The way men been conditioned to view weekends, by the mainstream, is this:
Relax and have some fun. This is the time to “let it all go” and chill. While you’re at it, eat all the food that destroys the progress you made this week. Don’t forget to drink all the alcohol you want so you can fully relax and take your mind off everything. Oh, and who wants to workout on the weekend… forget about that for now. Join the rest of us.
How’d this past weekend go for you?
Are you coming out of it a better man?
I turned 46 on Sunday the 28th and what’s present for me is this reflective question:
How am I showing up for myself, even on the weekend?
I start each weekend day with intentional fitness because I’ve found that it’s the gateway to my power for the rest of my weekend.
Here’s what I want you to consider.
Your goals don’t give a damn about the weekend. If your goals could speak, they would say, “Time is undefeated… and there’s a lot of time passing by on the weekend.”
104 days…
…that’s how many weekend days there are every year.
If you took half of those days (52 days) and did 4 hours of intentional work toward your goals and visions, that’s 208 hours you just applied toward being the greatest version of yourself.
Are you understanding the power of shifting your perspective?
The Committed Man understands this principle:
DECISIONS DETERMINE DESTINATION
Every choice you make is leading you somewhere. It’s an unavoidable cause-and-effect scenario.
So, when it comes to your weekend, don’t just “Let it all go.”
Sure, slow down and enjoy less being on your schedule. DO NOT let it all go.
Instead, lean into the “decisions determine destination” mentality, and:
Whatever you do, don’t become part of the “let it all go” crowd.
Your decisions are always at work determining your destination.
Win on the weekend.
Peace, truth, and love!
